Author: Nicholas Everitt
This book is a literary gem that has for far too long awaited republication. Originally published in 1902, the book reflects the bygone age of leisure and sport on the Broads in the days when the area remained much as it had done for centuries, and when age-old traditions were still observed as part of everyday life. Here the author takes the reader on a wonderful journey full of stories of the 'old times', and of people and places associated with Broadland traditions.
From yachting and fishing, through to wildfowling and poaching, this beautifully written work enables the present-day reader to reflect upon the changes in our fragile environment, and emphasizes the importance of conserving and protecting our natural heritage today.
