Boswell's Broadland
Boswell's Broadland is the final book in the trilogy of Patrick's East Anglian journeys in paint, following on from his award winning Boswell's Norwich and Boswell's Coast
After a year's work painting throughout the Broadland region this book takes us on a charming journey of discovery along the rivers and back waters, starting his painting adventure in Norwich, visiting all the principal Broads and rivers Ant, Bure, Waveney and Yare. He sets up his easel both on board his traditional Norfolk dinghy and on river banks producing over 70 oil paintings. The book also features over 30 etchings showing the Broads as they were at the turn of the 20th Century.
Patrick was inspired by dramatic skies, yachting scenes and conversations with people he encountered. We can read his thoughts and observations in his diary recalling childhood memories, and how he retraced the footsteps of Norfolk artists gone by.
Reading this book will remind you of how beautiful and unique Norfolk's Broadland is - seeing it through Patrick's paintings, memories and accompanying etchings. We hope it will inspire you to seek out the parts of Broadland as yet undiscovered by yourselves.
