Hunter Fleet Calender 2011 Hunter's Yard as established in 1932 by Percy Hunter and his two sons. Cyril and Stanley. From 1932 to 1939 they built the two sheds and a hire fleet of 11 cabin boats and 2 halfdeckers of varnished mahogany on oak frames. The whole fleet survived the war and then two more cabin boats were built. In 1968 the Yard and Fleet were purchased by Norfolk County Council as a sailing base for youth groups. In 1995 the County Council decided to sell Hunter's Elect and, after a vigorous campaign launched by the Eastern Daily Press, the Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust managed to buy the Yard and Fleet with the help of a successful public appeal and a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Fleet is the only complete fleet of traditional Norfolk Broads sailing cruisers operating from its original base. The boats have not been modernised and "Every yacht built on the Yard for the Fleet is still here and fully operational" - a remarkable tribute to the design and build of the craft and the skills of the team who have looked after them throughout the years. In 2007 Lucent, the first boat to he built at the Yard since 1949, was completed. Further half-deckers of traditional Norfolk Broads classes have also been added to the Fleet. The boats are available for hire and discounts are available for youth organisations. In 2009 the Yard achieved RYA accreditation and now provides sailing courses. The calendar is produced by The Friends of the Hunter Fleet for the Norfolk Heritage Fleet Trust
